Take Me Out: TV review

Laura Richards writes for Epigram TV about the nation’s lasting romance with ITV’s brand new dating show, Take Me Out.

ITV knows how to do Saturday night entertainment – X factor may have only just left our screens but never fear as Take Me Out is here in all its glittering glory. This brand new dating show is likely to have ‘Our Cilla’ with her head in her hands as it has little to do with romance and all to do with entertainment (whereas Blind Date was of course a flagship programme aiming at true lasting romance).

Fenech-Soler may not be the easiest name to slip into conversation but you better practice your pronunciation as it seems these electro-pop kids are set for big things. The Northants four-piece mix heavy bass, synth-led chorus lines and soft, sweet vocals, and sound like Cut Copy in Shoreditch on a sunny afternoon.
